Here are a couple of snapshots of my Workbench screen.  The one called
"Workbench" is in 32 colours, and the picture icons are just 3 bitplanes
deep (8 colours). And there are still a few free pens. Just to prove you
don't need hundreds or thousands of colours to have a colourful
Workbench... :-)

... but if you *do* want thousands of colors, check out the other grab
called "HAM-bench".  Running in HAM6, with a nice little program to show
pictures in HAM on the workbench (sorry, not ready for release yet...).
