Short: Make your Amiga booting like a PC Author: pzzip@otenet.gr (Panagiotis Zigouris) Uploader: pzzip otenet gr (Panagiotis Zigouris) Type: util/boot Architecture: m68k-amigaos How to make your Amiga Booting-Up like a PC You wonder, What's the usage of this thing? Well, you must have seen how a PC boots-up. With that black DOS-Mode screen and all these things that loads (Including Windows) to call itself Multitasking User-Friendly System... Well some PC Users in my neighbourhood they laughed with my amiga so, I decided to create something to show them, that we can easily emulate the DOS Mode of a PC :) ...Note that one of them thought that it was a PC the machine it was booting... Description It's consisted by 17 Pictures of 16 Colors for the Highest possible speed. Which are showing a PC Bios info and some other things such as: Drivers Loading (Sound Blaster, Scanners, CD ROMS) Programs (VirusScan) and of course, in the last Picture Windows 98 are loading... (No Comment) I also include in and an animation made of the 17 Pictures How it Works Well, you can use it with Picboot (util/wb/PicBoot.lha) or any other boot picture utility you like. You can also use it with a viewer such as PPShow (gfx/show/PPShow40.lha) ViewTek (gfx/show/ViewTEK21.lha) etc. As you can see in my Startup Sequence it loads the pictures one after another and it appears loading like a PC. If you don't like that method you can use the animation instead (made with PPaint) You can combine it with Windows Wallpapers for WBPattern, Windows Sounds and you can make your own Booting-Like Pictures with Energy Star logos, Programs, Drivers, and anything you can think about I gave the idea. Try it out...
