This archive contains the original (almost, see below) distribution of
the trial version of SID2, taken from the Amiga Computing cover disk
from June 1992.

Recently (Jan/Feb '99) a thread has again been running in the newsgroup
comp.sys.amiga.applications about SID. Among other things it was asked
how to get hold of SID2, and since it doesn't seem to be on Aminet
already, I decided to upload it.

According to the file "Distribution", it can be freely distributed
subject to a few restrictions. The only one which could be discussed in
this case is the following:

  2) All of the files must be included in their original form without
     additions, deletions, or modifications of any kind.

I have archived all the files from the SID2 directory on the original
cover disk plus the drawer icon without making any modifications, except
for one thing: Five of the files were crunched with PowerPacker, they
have been decrunched before the whole thing was archived.

My excuse for uncrunching these files is that PowerPacker is not nearly
as common among users today as it was in 1992, and since the whole thing
is LhA'ed anyway, it wouldn't have saved any space worth mentioning. I
do not regard this as a modification, but merely as a changed method of
representation. I assume this is acceptable and in the spirit of the
conditions.

Finally, I can not take any responsibility for the contents of this
archive. I just took it from the old cover disk, virus checked it,
decrunched the five files as mentioned above, archived it and uploaded
it.

Have fun with it! And if you have questions about its use, please try
the newsgroups etc., don't ask me. I just happened to have the cover
disk lying around ;-)
