GNU Patch v2.1

     Patch v2.1 is distributed under the GNU General Public License. For
further details read the file "COPYING", included in this archive.

     This port is based on the latest UNIX patch by Larry Wall
<lwall@netlabs.com>, which I could compile nearly without change, thanks to
SAS's great standard library, but I had to change or delete a few things to
make it work real smooth. I had to throw RCS-support out, for example, and
had to change most of the filehandling routines.

     If you want to compile this yourself, you may contact me under Peter
Simons <simons@peti.GUN.de> for the sources or FTP the original archive
somewhere. Then simply unpack them, change into the directory and execute
"patch <Diffs". Voilà!
