I *hate* topaz.font - don't you either? This font (taken from an old
fish-disk and a little bit improved) may cure your topaz-ache. Use
TurboTopaz or FF (from WB 1.3) to install the font. From then on,
topaz.font is *history* (except when you boot with no startup-sequence
;))
