Long: This is still (unfortunately) no runtime-screenshot
of a forthcoming first person game.
It is only a traced scene, showing off some features, that are
missing in *every* 3D-shooter I know. (not only on AM!GA and PSX)
Features: -ability to go back to earlier levels
Let´s say there is a region with loads of
nasty guys, but you need to go in there, because
of special key/gun/ammo/other item located there.
So you go ahead, complete a couple of levels
and if you´ve got a really big gun, you go back
to that level and blow off the nasty guys
in a BIG way.
-moving sun-/moonlight
So if you stay on a level for a longer time
you can see shadows move.
Or if you go back to an earlier stage
(missing key/gun/ammo/other item),there can be
a totally different lighting on the whole level.
-really high resolution
I think,on a 2-processor A/BOX a res. of
1280x1024x24 at 40 FPS IS possible.(UMS rules!)
-REAL water; jump into it and search for another passage
to this door or that place, but remember:
"Be quick or be dead" (Hi Marina)
-the text bar from TKG,which prints special messages
on special events,is also a great idea
-You should be able to manipulate things on the
whole level. Sentry systems, gun turrets,
electric fences, even collapsing suns :)
-lensflares/lensglow
Player control: -player´s steps controlled via joystick/-pad
-crosshair controlled *seperately* via
mouse, coolie-hat or light-gun
History: 1.0 -initial release
2.0 -changed surrounding area
-changed file format from JPEG to 24bit IFF
-added titlebar with message from other program
-changed screenmode from 16 to 24 bit
-added 1 weapon
-jetpack now functional :)
3.0 -changed surrounding area again
-another titlebar message
-added again 1 weapon
3.2 -some texture cleanups
-another texture for the fence
At the bottom of the screen you can see, that this scene in not intended
as AM!GA screenshot. It is made in anticipation for the most innovative
computer system mankind have ever heard of: the A/Box from phase5.
Note to PiOS: I don´t want a new A500 with an half-hearted AmigaOS clone
and standard PeeCee hardware plugged into it.
An MPC 603 *at all* is not my idea of fun.
