Short: Plays Quite OK Audio (QOA) files Author: grzegorz.kraszewski@gmail.com (Grzegorz Kraszewski) Uploader: grzegorz kraszewski gmail com (Grzegorz Kraszewski) Type: mus/misc Version: 0.8 Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 3.0 Quick facts about Quite OK Audio format (qoaformat.org): * Lossy, time-domain compression, 16 bits. * Quality comparable to MP3 @ 160 kbps. * 5:1 fixed compression ratio. * 44.1 kHz stereo streams decode in realtime on 68030 @ 25 MHz. QoaPlay replays QOA files (mono and stereo, multichannel is not supported), using audio.device in 8-bit quality. Files with sampling rates above 27 kHz will be automatically decimated to half of the frequency. It ensuses proper playback regardless of current graphics mode of the Amiga chipset. Users running their Amigas in doublescan modes (DblPAL, DblNTSC, Multiscan) or using graphics cards with tool or setting switching the chipset to doublescan mode, may disable frequency halving with DBLSCAN argument. Usage: QoaPlay [DBLSCAN] Playback can be stopped with standard CTRL+C keycombo. QoaPlay is an open source project, hosted on Codeberg: https://github.com/krashan/qoaplay/ HISTORY 0.8 (02.12.2025) - Fixed: frequency halving of stereo files sent odd left channel samples to the left channel and even left channel samples to the right channel. 0.7 (06.10.2025) - Added: automatic frequency halving and DBLSCAN argument. 0.6 (05.10.2025) - The first release on itch.io.
